I give a nontechnical review of supersymmetry
and history of its development from the inception till
present. Many theorists hope that superpartners to ordinary
particles will be discovered in the near future, and this discovery
will pave the way to understanding mysteries
of huge hierarchies of nature (e.g. the cosmological term)
and provide material for dark matter. Regardless of what may or may not
happen in the future, supersymmetry (in conjunction with string-based
ideas) has already provided us with breakthrough tools in exploration
of quantum chromodynamics, the theory of strong interactions.
